Rules
- Idea
- Each month it buys the fifteen companies whose executives and directors bought the most of their own shares on balance in open-market trades, favouring strong momentum. It ranks: when insiders are mostly selling, it holds the companies where they sold least.
- Universe
- Stocks listed in the US, including foreign companies (ADRs), worth at least $2 billion.
- Ranking
- Higher insider flow (counted double), then higher 12-1 momentum.
- Holdings
- The top 15, in equal weights, at most 10% each.
- Rebalance
- On the last trading day of each month.
- Costs
- 0.15% trading costs on every trade.
Who it suits
Investors who want to follow what company insiders do with their own money.
Main risk
Insider trades are disclosed with a delay and are not always about the company's prospects.
