Our story
We built the investing agent we wanted for our own money: one that does the work, shows its reasons and acts only inside the limits you set.
Where it started
The Volaren cofounders met at the University of Chicago and went to work on Wall Street. Our days ran on software almost nobody outside the industry has seen: a terminal licence, data subscriptions, a modelling stack, and people whose whole job was to keep a portfolio under watch.
What struck us was how much of that job repeats. Pull the filings. Read the news. Check every position against the plan. Decide what to trim and what to add. Then do it all again tomorrow. Days of assembly for one hour of judgment.
Most people investing their own money get none of that help. They have an app at one broker, an old account at another, a feed of opinions, and whatever time is left at the end of the day.
What we built
Volaren is a personal investing agent for every account you own. Connect the brokers you already use and it sees your whole portfolio at once. It explains what moved and why, suggests what to do next and, once you say yes, places the trades for you.
You talk to it through Copilot. Ask about anything you hold or want to hold, and it does the research, runs the numbers and can act in the same conversation.
Idea to trade turns a view into a portfolio. Describe a company, an industry or a shift you think is coming, and it builds a reasoned book with the evidence behind every line.
Any of it can become an AI agent: your own thesis, a politician’s disclosed trades, a fund’s holdings, a tax-loss harvesting routine. Each agent works inside the rules and budget you give it, and every rule is there for you to read.
Everything from your phone
You can do everything from your phone. Open Volaren in your phone's browser for your portfolio, your AI agents and their approvals, the same as the web terminal.
When an AI agent wants your approval for a trade, it texts you the trade and its reason: reply YES to approve it, or NO to skip it. The text's link opens the same trade on your phone.
The rules we started with
The machine does the assembly, and it shows its work.
No number here is written by a language model. Numbers come from code, from filings and market data; the AI writes the words around them. Follow any figure back and you land on its source.
When something does not exist, we show nothing rather than a zero. A backtest is always labelled as a backtest, with the period it covers.
Your money stays at your broker. Volaren connects to your accounts; it never holds your cash or your shares.
Those rules cost us features. They are the reason to trust anything else on the screen.
What we are trying to do
Give every individual investor what a professional has always had: someone watching the whole portfolio, doing the research before you ask, and acting on your decisions while you get on with your day.
Good investing was never a secret. It was steady, careful work, and the tools to do it sat behind a price that had nothing to do with what they cost to build.
Now an AI agent can do that work for you, in the open.
