AI agents
What an AI agent is
Each AI agent runs one idea: a rule, a book from Idea to trade, a person or strategy you copy, or a thesis you described to Copilot. It has its own budget and its own record, and every rule it follows is shown on its panel. Your agents are listed in the sidebar under Your AI agents, each with today's move or "Approve" when it needs you.
Making one
Describe what you want in Copilot ("buy the dip in the S&P 500 when it falls 5% in a week"), or press Make this an AI agent under an Idea to trade book or a backtest. Copilot drafts the agent with its rules and limits written out, and you press Start AI agent when it reads right.
Approve or automatic
- Tell me only. It sends an email and a push when it finds something. You trade yourself.
- I approve each batch (one tap). It prepares the orders and sends a push; nothing trades without your tap.
- Trade automatically within my limits. It places orders inside your limits and tells you after. Anything outside the limits still asks.
Approvals arrive by push notification or by text, whichever you prefer. Tap the push, or reply yes to the text that echoes the exact trades. See Trade by text.
Rules and limits
Every new agent starts with sensible limits: a monthly budget of 10% of the account, up to $5,000, and a largest order of 5% of the account. You can change them, and add a largest position and a cap on orders per day. A copied person, strategy or basket starts with $1,000 a month, $500 per order, 10% per position and 10 orders a day, which you can change.
Every trading agent also has a loss stop: by default it stops buying after a 20% loss and from then on only sells. See Safety and limits.
Test before it runs
Before you press Start, the Start card replays the agent over the last 4 weeks, with no hindsight, so you see the trades it would have made and how they did. The draft card also offers Backtest this rule first for a longer run over past prices, with costs counted. Every agent then builds its live record from the day it starts, in practice money first if you like.
The AI cost budget
An AI agent spends AI time each time it checks the market. Each agent has an AI cost budget, shown on its card (by default $3 a run and $10 a day), and it pauses its AI work when it reaches the cap.
Pause and end
Open the agent from the sidebar and press Pause: it places nothing until you resume it. End this AI agent stops it for good. Its record stays.
