Safety and limits
Volaren acts on your money only the way you told it to. These are the rules that hold for every AI agent and every order.
Limits
- Default limits. Every new AI agent starts with a monthly budget of 10% of the account, up to $5,000, and a largest order of 5% of the account.
- Your limits, visible. Every AI agent shows its rules and limits on its panel: monthly budget, largest order, largest position, orders per day. Change any of them at any time.
- Copies start capped. A copied person, strategy or basket starts at $1,000 a month, $500 per order, 10% per position and 10 orders a day.
- Outside the limits, it asks. An automatic agent places orders only inside the limits you set and agreed to. Anything outside them waits for your approval.
- AI cost cap. Each agent has a hard cap on what it spends on AI, by default $3 a run and $10 a day.
The loss stop
Every new trading agent has a loss stop. By default, after a 20% loss it stops buying and from then on only sells. You can see it on the agent's card ("Stops buying after a 20% loss") and change it.
Practice and real money
You can run any AI agent on practice money first. Portfolio keeps practice and real money apart with its Real and Practice switch. Moving an agent to real money asks you to agree to the automated-trading terms once, then confirm with a click.
How you stay in charge
- You approve each order by push or by text, or let an agent trade automatically inside limits you set and agreed to.
- An order by text is echoed back exactly and placed on your explicit yes. Trade by text is turned on in Settings.
- A transfer between accounts is proposed, and you confirm it.
- Every record says whether it is a backtest, practice money or real money, and for what period.
You can pause any agent at any time from the sidebar. Questions about your account? See Getting started or ask Copilot.
